Welcome Coyote Community to the 2023-2024 school year.  I am honored to be part of a pack which fosters strong foundational beliefs and traditions both in and out of the classroom. I came to Alice Carlson as a seasoned elementary teacher and building principal, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am a mother and a wife.  My husband and two daughters are all educators in Texas.  Thus, you can say “it is the family business.”  Since graduating from the University of Arizona, I have served as a principal in Colorado and have most recently been part of the Fort Worth ISD family. Alice Carlson is a special place.  As you open the doors at Alice Carlson, you will observe members of our learning community working, learning and growing together.  I believe a crucial part of the success of students is due to the connectedness to school through positive relationships, a culture of collaboration and the ability to create problem solvers.  

By forging relationships, celebrating successes and continuing to build on the strong foundation here at Alice Carlson, we are fostering a learning environment where our entire community thrives. 

I am excited for this year as I dream of the possibilities, dare to take the risks, and do the work alongside our community!
